(meteorobs) Perseids over Xinglong, China, August 12/13

Hi all,

I'm now in Beijing, just back from Xinglong. Some members of the Youth
Astronomical Society of Peking University, including me, went to Peak of
Wuling, Mountain Yan (elevation 2118 meters) for this year's Perseids. That
site is just a few kilometers away from Xinglong Station, National
Astronomical Observatories of China. At the night of August 11/12, we met
terrible fog at the mountain peak. So, the 1-revolution maximum predicted by
Esko Lyytinen et al was missed regretfully. (From Hiroshi Ogawa's FLASH
announcement, that peak really occurred. Thanks go to Esko and Hiroshi's
work.)

However, on August 12/13, we climbed down to the foot of the mountain, and
fortunately have one hour's clear sky. I seized the opportunity and managed
to make a 40-minute visual observation. Here is the report.
