(meteorobs) Observation August 10/11, 2004 from Slovenia (late report)

Hi All,

I am just back from our astronomical research camp and with this 
mail I begin a series of observing reports from the camp. Only one 
night was completely unusable for observing and I observed on 
eight other nights.
The first night I observed from 10 PM to 4:30 AM local time with 
one long break during that time. I faced SSE during much of the 
observations but decided to turn NW for the last hour as the Moon 
was becoming more of a nuisance. Meteor activity was quite 
satisfying with 140 meteors seen in just above 5 hours Teff. The 
majority of the shower meteors came from the Perseids. Aquarids 
were also active, but only one meteor came from each Capricornids 
and Kappa Cygnids.
The brightest meteors were:
- a -3 mag Perseid with a 4-second train at 23:28:27 UT that 
appeared just 30 seconds after another bright -2 mag Perseid,
- a -4 mag Perseid with 2-second train at 00:09:37 UT and
- the brightest meteor of the night that was not seen in my Teff: -5 
mag green sporadic meteor leaving a red wake and fragmenting at 
00:28:14 UT.
