Comments - Looks like the Alpha Capricornids are going to be better
than last year. Only dim Perseids this session. The Pisces Australid
was like a big orange freight train dropping to the SE of the already low
radiant. The best meteor of the nite was the +1 Southern Apex sporadic
with a 1.5 sec. train in the east, but there were many fine meteors this
nite. One of the Alpha Cap.s, the +0.5 mag one had a terminal burst
near Altair., followed by the Pisces Australid, then a flaring twice +2
Sporadic just 2 meteors later.

In E Central KS I believe I had about 5 at the most observable nites
in the whole of July, with 2 or 3 being near the full moon. There was
some serious Canadian/Alaskan forest fire smoke thru the middle of
the month turning the day sky milky white.
