Geert, my current plan is to spend the week camped on a beach in Florida
- Long Key State Park, at Mile Marker 67.5 in the Florida Keys, to be
precise. The park is beautiful, the weather prospects are generally
excellent for that time of year (no guarantees! it is the Caribbean),
and the skies in past years of my life have really been quite dark...
(Let us hope that tourism from my fellow Northerners and our European
brethren, and the concomitant rampaging development, haven't taken too
much of a toll in the past few years. :< )
If anyone else is interested, you are welcome to try to join me there
during the week of Perseid activity (roughly 08 to 14 August) - so long
as you don't mind the heat, the mosquitoes, and the sand fleas! Be
warned - park reservations are very difficult to come by and strictly
limited. So call the State of Florida now. Or if you are sure you're
coming, contact me - we may be able to accommodate ONE other
camper/observer on our site during some part of that week, though old
meteor observing friends from Florida will have to get first precedent.
:)

Geert, this is really a wonderful idea. Do you (or any of our other
readers) have any "templates" for such press releases that you would
recommend using?
Clear skies!
Lew
