Subject: [IMO-News] Huge fireball seen 21. april 02:40 UT

April 21. 02:40 UT a huge fireball was observed from many different
places in Denmark. All observers ( about 48 filled in the Danish meteor
sections on-line fireball report form ) did see the fireball from the
"east side" of the track. It is therefore very difficult to determine
the track.

We only know that the fireball, as seen from much of Denmark, was
coming from N - NW and disappearing in SW some place over the North See.
It brook up in at least two parts, and from a ship in the North See (
Long. 007 degree 55` 03`` E, Lat. 56 degree 55` 05 `` N ) they heard a
whistling.

Can anybody help with more information.
All observations will in the next day or two, be send to Andre Knoefel
IMO.

I am sorry that I give this information so late, but I have been
travelling outside the country for the last week.

Best wishes

Lars Bakmann
