VIRUS alert (was Re: (meteorobs) RE: Text message)

Thanks for the reply. I've had this happen in my own mailing list -- my
computer wasn't infected, but someone's on the list is and the spoofing
comes from that end -- inevitably some people on my list will get the
spoofed stuff and think it's me. Nothing like that a blow to your
credibility.

And I joined the list partly to report a jaw-dropper of a meteor (or
something), so I guess I ought to go report it before I forget again.

Thanks,
Tamara

FYI, these virus emails may or may not "really" be coming from Gary's
PC - but in any case, I have marked Gary's AMS email address to be
"Moderated" for the time being. This means that any further emails from
that address to our list will have to be approved by hand, by one of your
Friendly List Elves (:>), before they will go out to our readers.

Gary, if these emails ARE originating on your PC, and you get the virus
cleared off of there, let me know and I can "un-moderate" you.

If these emails are NOT originating with you - let me know that, also,
and we will see if we can screen them out in some smarter way.

BTW, this ability to post attachments is a "feature" of our new listserv
software - and one that I have not yet found out how to turn OFF.

Clear skies all, and sorry for the trouble!
