To all,

I think it’s just great that Al and other newbies to this list have shown an active interest in asking questions and picking the brains of the distinguished cast on MeteorObs and I for one enjoy the new exuberance being injected into the list. I posted my first report to this list way back in Sept-1996, the year that MeteorObs went ‘on-line’. Mark Davis and Lew Gramer created this community with the express purpose that it serve as “...an open forum for amateur astronomers at all levels (and the professionals whose research they provide data to) to share their knowledge, interest, and observations of meteor”. To be sure, as us list ‘ol-timers’ know, around the time of the traditional major meteor showers, generally the nature of the posts change from general meteor queries, into an avalanche of data reports sent in from all around this wonderful planet!

Currently, I think what we are seeing here is a crop of new and interested meteor observers who are taking full advantage of Mark and Lew’s original vision. Hat's off.

That is excellent, and I would like to publicly thank Mr Lew Gramer and Mark Davis for having the original vision and taking to time to create and support the MeteorObs Mailing List. Thanks guys!
