   Wow! What a beautiful shot! Quick question: do the colours captured on what 
passes for film these days have any relationship with the reality of the visual 
fireball, or are they merely artifacts of image processing?

   Some of you will have seen but others will be interested that the Astronomy 
Picture of the Day site has featured the Perseids on three occasions in the 
past ten days. Check the archives
