(meteorobs) local meteoritic enthusiasts in Washington, DC?

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the group. I became fascinated with the night sky after 
witnessing two spectacular events, a comet and a meteor shower, while 
volunteering in Haifa, Israel before the millennium.  I've since 
returned to the U.S. and live in Washington, DC.

If possible, I'd like to observe the Perseid meteor shower with other 
meteoritics enthusiasts.  Is there anyone on the list from Washington, 
DC?  I live by Catholic University surrounded by light pollution and 
don't have a car, so I'd need to carpool with a safe crowd to a safe 
location.  Thanks for any suggestions.
