(meteorobs) Radiant in Aries?

George,
This is interesting because in the report I sent earlier, I also
mentioned about possible Aires meteors. Bert Mahous out of Kansas
alerted me to watch for this during the Perseids and I did see a few
come out of the Aires area, whether the path just happened to extend
through Aires and become visible just as it came out of the
constellation and actually were Sporadics are from another known
radiant, I could not be for sure, but the Aires theory needs more
investigation.

Al>>While observing this weekend, I spotted a few (6 to 7) meteors that
appeared to radiate from Aries and move to the south, the west and to
the east. I cannot find any radiants from any showers in this area.
I'm classifying them as sporadic, but wonder if there is a shower I've
missed or some less frequent shower that is not typically listed among
the minor showers.<<
Al, I recommend you plot your apparent sporadics and see if a
reasonable
radiant appears. If you come up with an apparent 4 or more meteors per
25 plots
with the right parameters (such as velocity and proper path length in
relation to a possible radiant), you might have info on a not so known
shower. Note
that at this time of year, there are at least 8 known showers that are
active...You'll have to consider each one of these before passing
judgement, as to
whether or not you got plots for a new shower.
