I observed this morning for two hours, from 3:00 - 5:00
AM local time, under exceptionally clear skies, and had
unexpectedly good results. Not only were the antehelion
meteors active with eight seen, but a large number of
sporadics were logged, with a good many of these
coming out of the north, northeast--perhaps near the
UMA border with Leo Minor. But the speeds on these
meteors were a mixed bag -- some slow; many fast.
I had four mostly bright meteors with nice, bright,
lengthy trains appear from this area in just four
minutes from 9:42-9:47 UT. Overall it was a
surprisingly busy, and enjoyable, session!
