I went on a weekend camping trip to the Oregon Coast, the land of sand and fog (albeit a lot warmer than my high-altitude hometown). Astronomy wasn't the main focus of my trip, but I was able to observe for almost two hours on Sunday morning from a cozy bivouac in the Oregon Dunes.

Wow! What a beautiful morning! Excellent sky conditions with a bright Zodiacal Light and winter Milky Way. Meteors were numerous, with lots of sporadics (didn't have radiant positions of minor showers with me, but a few at most) and the expected numbers of Geminids. When the fog did roll in, it came suddenly, obscuring most of the sky within 4 minutes.
