We had good conditions to look for the Xi Bootid meteors on Sunday morning.
Despite the cold (20 deg. F.), I was able to get two hours of meteor observing
in. From 6:54 to 8:54 UT I was able to see 29 meteors. There were a few clouds
the first hour, but the second hour was very good conditions. The brightest
meteor was only a 1st magnitude sporadic seen at 8:50 UT. We also observed the
bright supernova 2005V in NGC 2146, and comet Machholz Q2, which had a nice
2 degree tail in 15x70 binoculars. Below is a short breakdown of the meteors
observed.
