Rascals:
I forgot to mention James G. Baker's contributions to Amateur Telescope
Making. There is an article on Dr. Baker in Amateur Telescope Making - Book
Three, the Editor's Chapter, giving a brief history of his background and
contributions to astronomical optics. He had in fact designed many of the
aerial cameras used during WWII and headed the Harvard Observatory Optical
Project which skilled amateur ATM's participated in during the War years.
The amateurs were known as TN's, telescope nuts!
