I agree about the date problem. The most significant digits should
always be on the left, just like in any number.

I have hundreds, if not thousands of files and images on my computer
that use (YY)YYMMDDHHMMSS as part of the file name. It's the ONLY
way to keep the files organized in any manner that allows reasonable
search and sort ability.

In my case it happens to be quake data and maps.
