1977 Nov 16/17 had variable cloudiness so I am using only the 2 clear
periods. The night before had much better Leonid rates. I was wondering
how long it would be before somebody would investigate the good 1974 Leonid
display. That was the last of the 1960's series. I saw a -12m Leonid 1979
Nov 22, well after the max. 1983 was memorable in having a number of -2m
Leonids. No recollection of anything else interesting until 1996 although
I did not see the Leonids every year. Who has, for that matter?

The work pace is in a temporary slowdown. After the heavy tax peak in late
Jan - early Feb it gets quieter in March before the final rush in early
April. Been a rough year for illnesses. I caught a mild cold in late Jan,
out of work one day, but had a stuffy head for nearly a month
afterwards. Usually it clears up after just a week. Almost everyone else
at the office went through the mill also. Same symptoms were widespread
among other people so I wasn't alone.
