(meteorobs) Hawaii observatories

Well, the list has been relatively quiet, so this might be a good time 
to ask.

My family and I are planning a Hawaii vacation for Christmas '05.  We 
will be on Maui & the big island, and would like to visit the 
observatories as part of our holiday.

Does anyone out there have any connections that will get us more than 
the standard "public" tour, either at Haleakala or Mauna Kea?
