(meteorobs) Observation November 9/10, 2005 from Slovenia

Wednesday night Jure A and myself were also joined by Jure Z. 
We first tried the same location as the night before but it was foggy 
there. We then cruised around the countryside (terrible roads) for 
quite some time and finally found a suitable spot in a clearing. A 
very thin layer of fog was still present up to about 1 meter above 
the ground but at least we escaped the worse. Sadly the fog lifted 
after only 10 minutes and only the brightest stars remained visible. 
So we studied the maps again and decided to try a hill about 25 
km from the first site. The sky was clear there so we started 
observing again. This time we were luckier as the fog only reached 
us after about two hours.
This night I again observed for more than two hours Teff and 
recorded 45 meteors in total. Taurid rates were about the same as 
the night before. I also recorded three meteors that were likely the 
Leonids.
The only fireball of the night was a magnitude -5 Taurid close to the 
radiant. This meteor was also recorded by an all-sky camera at 
Crni Vrh Observatory (about 30 km NNW from our location):

I arrived home at 5.30 am and after some refreshment I went 
straight to work. I will try to get some sleep tonight and then try to 
observe again during the weekend.
