I was able to observe two unremarkable Taurids on 11/12/2005 UT. I began
observing 16 minures after moonset. The best of the morning was a -4
sporadic coming from the east. It, and some dimmer meteors, may have been
apex meteors. However, because I was looking westward, I could not confirm
this possibility.
Date: 11/12/2005 Time: 8:08-9:20 UT
Place: Newburg, Maryland, USA: approx coordinates 77 deg W longitude; 38.5
deg N latitude; sea level.
Teff= 1.20 hours, Lm=5.1, some river fog interference; F=1.00; central field
was Taurus/eastern Cetus
TAU: +2 (2);
SPO: -4 (1, with a 20 second train), +2 (1 ); +3 (1); +4 (2)
Total of 7 meteors
Best wishes, Rich Taibi
