Mark,
I believe this post (Los Vegas) and your next forward (Phoenix) were
both observing the Minotaur rocket launch from Vandenberg that evening.
Very impressive sights when they occur. From my location in Los Angeles
we were able to see first and second stage separation.

yes ..into two. It was awesome!
Did it leave a persistent streak in the sky after it was gone?

no. but the other had left a cloud that looked like the number 2
How fast did it move? Use a 1 to 5 scale, 1 being
VERY slow, and 5 being extremely quick.

If yes, what was the time delay from sighting to sound?
no

Im not sure if this is correct site to report what I witnessed. I
have
never
seen anything like this. It sure was awesome! I have pictures. I
believe it
was
a meteor.
