This observation is from my mom,in her own words:
I took my daughter to work and came back home.I leaned against the car and
looked at the sky and stars. It was beautiful. I searchedthe sky for the
tell-tale blinking-moving lights of an airplane-none.
Then I saw this big sideway V shape shooting west across the sky. No
lights-just a shadowmoving quickly. I thought my eyes were playing tricks
so I turned my eyes back to where I had first seen it and tried to
reconstructit. Absolutely no luck. So I just enjoyed the lovely sky.
Then I got a big surprise! The neighbors big tree across thr street
covered
part of the sky-now a very large fireball came east from behind this tree.
It had a long light tail behind it. It was really big and bright shooting
straight east 2 1/2 fist above the horizon. About a fist from the
silohutte of the side of the tree it seemed to hit something. It got really
brighter and seemed to
splatter all directions for that moment then traveled straight east-somewhat
smaller but bright. It blipped out about1/2 fist from where it splattered.
This
was about 5:o5 a.m.
I was kind of shocked-when I came in the door it was 5:08a.m.
