(meteorobs) Perseid Observation Aug 11/12 from California

With the moon being a big problem for this year's Perseids, I decided to go out early and do a short session before the moon got too high. I faced SW to get the majority of its glare behind me, so managed a 5.4 LM on the average for the session.

Despite the moon and the low radiant around 11PM local time, I saw a decent number of Perseids. The best one was a gorgeous mag -3 slightly orange teardrop shape which past southward towards Capricornus.

Tomorrow nights peak should be better with a later moonrise and higher radiant.
