(meteorobs) obs. period 2006.08.08-10

Hello,
A session close to the Perseid maximum. The shining Moon and some
cirrus clouds made lm very low - mostly around 4.7 mag,
So far during Teff=3.32 hours I saw 42 meteors, 38 Perseids among
them. No especialy bright meteors, but the most
spectacular for me became a double Perseid meteors at 18:18 UT. Two
faint 3.5 mag meteors appeared simultaneously close to
each other. Perhapt a particle ejected by the parent comet suffered a
further splitting to two meteoroids.
I seem, that as I noted in my forecast of Perseids 2006, this year the
shower is showing only a very moderate activity, even
considering the bright Moon.
