(meteorobs) Backyard Geminids from East Georgia USA; Dec 14

Like George in WV, I had an opening last night right at midnight; I was
still only able to get in 76 minutes of clear sky before the clouds rolled
back in, but activity was quite good, especially considering I was in my
backyard in town rather than out under rural skies -- I had to abandon my
normal site due to clouds, but at home I got a break. During the short
watch I logged 54 meteors, including 49 GEMs under a +5.51 sky, with trees
interfering somewhat. I had a nice "outburst" at 5:43 UT, with six GEMs
observered during the one minute interval! Nothing too bright, but these
were probably the best rates I ever had from my back yard. I also had a
pair of simultaneous Geminids.
