WOW!! Re: (meteorobs) -2 Hour weather update for Shuttle/ISS

What can I say.... that was spectacular!!!!!  I've never seen the ISS  
and shuttle so closely separated

It wasn't until they were quite high in the south-west that I could  
start to see the space shuttle, which was fainter next to the bright  
glare (about mag -1) of the ISS.  When they reached almost overhead,  
the shuttle suddenly flared as bright as the ISS (about -1) and by  
then the two satellites were distinct to the naked eye.  In my  
Celestron Ultima 9x63mm binoculars, the view was beautiful.  Two very  
bright "stars" side by side.  My mother came out to see and she was  
suitably impressed.
