We went up to our cabin at Mountain Meadows, West Virginia to try to
see some
late Ursids (URS) and Coma Berenicids (COM) meteors. The transparency
was good
to excellent and I was able to get in three hours of meteor observing
before
clouds came in. There were a few URS, and there was good activity from
the COM
minor meteor shower. The last hour, there were a few Epsilon Virginids (EVR)
seen. There were no meteors brighter than 1st magnitude. The few URS
seen were
on the faint side, but distinct.
