Hi
Trying to locate current information of the finding or discovery of
fossil meteorites in coal seams. I am aware of the location of
meteorites in mid-Ordovician limestone of Sweden.
In circa 1999 Penn State University instructor Andrew Scree suggested
the possibility of finding a meteorite by using the electromagnets of
the coal mines -- used to pick bits of tools and related iron -- from
coal. He suggested that the magnets may pick up bits of meteor related
iron that may have landed in the early swamps.
Has any one a reference or information on such a discovery with in the
past five years?
Thank you.
