Hi Michael,

If you've ruled out everything else locally, is it possible something has
changed with the transmitter you're monitoring? Maybe it has a technical
problem and is on reduced power, or something like that? It may be possible
for you to contact the operator (FCC in the US or whatever it is in Canada)
to find out?

Regards,
Andy G7IZU.

Hi Chris:

Well, again today my rates are low for the Arietids. The only thing
is yesterday it picked up a bit with 88 in the afternoon. But compared with
last year this year is low. Last month I had lots from the Eta Aquarids and
did well. I have no idea why this month is poor, that is why I figured
Sporadic E was a cause. The static is variable sounding ;;; like a old
type steam train > "chooo-chooo" to being "crackly" sounding and only
the stronger meteors are heard.

 I checked my antenna connections..ok..my radio...ok...frequency
same..working on CW mode. So, I'm at a loss as to what happened.
