Oh, and another posibility - it could be aurora? There have been a few
auroral events over the last few days.

 I did check them. no green or any white power do indicate corrosion. The
parth with connections is covered to prevent any rain ect from getting those
wires wet. The antenna is on a tripod that I can put on the balcony.

Again after the noon hour the rates went up a bit again. Funny they do
that this
year for Arietids/Zeta Perseids. Highest today was 82/hr then dropped to 53
next hour. Maybe antenna ok, the interference seems to be bad in the morning
from 0900-1500 UT, then after that things seem to pick up a bit better.
