Yes, many years ago I use a B&W TV on Ch.2 and looked for white
or black lines aganist the "snow" background. I had to keep the volume off
as the "SHHHHHHH" would drive you nuts. I used a filter to elimante the
ghosting from Ch.3. I detected meteors that way. On one occassion during
the Eta Aquarids I saw a faint station come in and out, then it came in 
stronger
and I managed to get the ID. I had to phone Maine FCC to find out I saw a TV
station from Terra Haute, Indiana! It was interesrting because the 
person I spoke
to also was into radio meteors and got channels from Halifax!
