(meteorobs) SMART-1 vs. the Moon - a challenge for observers!

The impact - probably on Sep. 3 at 2:00 UTC on the dark side of the gibbous
waxing Moon, close to the terminator - will produce only a very faint flash
(bolometric estimates range from +7 to +17 mag., with most radiation in the
IR), but if the rising debris cloud reaches sunlight, there could be something
to see. More details after the final orbit determination in mid-July.
