Hi All,
The night of September 23 was quite clear so I had planned a two-
hour observation. I started at 1 am local time but the clouds
coming from the south forced me to finish earlier.
The meteor activity was somewhat low, perhaps due to fatigue. The
observation started great with 7 meteors recorded in 14 minutes.
During the rest of the first period only two more meteors were seen.
The second (shorter) period was a bit more active with ten meteors
in total.
No bright meteors were seen. The only notable meteor appeared
just before I ended the observations. It was a twin meteor, the first
was a +3rd magnitude in Perseus with a 20-deg train. The second
one, a +4th magnitude meteor in Auriga and Camelopardalis of
equal length that apperared and disappeared simultaneously with
the first one. The angle between meteors was about 30 degrees
and the radiant for the pair would be in the western part of Gemini
or northern part on Monoceros. Really interesting, indeed!
Clear skies!
Javor
