Thanks for the interesting URL. Nothing out of the ordinary shows in 
their log for the period in question. However, I think that if a 
cosmic ray burst is actually what I observed, its apparent source 
would have been well below Stanford's eastern horizon at the time, so 
I don't think their detector could have observed it.
