(meteorobs) Perseids in Hawaii

Generally, Hawaii is not the best place for this
shower, due to the low radiant elevation in the north.
And, it certainly lived up to its reputation out here,
as I counted just 3 PER in an hour of observing. Same
number of ANT were seen, but of course, that radiant
was much higher, so I guess I can conclude the ZHR of
the Perseids must have been greater than any other
meteors last night. All of the Perseids were long
earth-grazers, which certainly did make them look
impressive. One in particular left a very "dusty"
trail of sparkling debris as it went by! Pretty cool.
