I was able to make my first serious meteor observation in a few years this
past weekend. The peak day, the 13th, I was out 339-855 UT, observing in
the Virginia mountains, west of the Blue Ridge, at Basye, VA. The Perseid
rate did not seem especially high during the predicted maximum, and I only
saw 79 during the time. I attribute that to a low limiting magnitude, and
perhaps to fatique. The most impressive fireball was a -6 Perseid. Its
path twisted and the train was visible for 55 seconds.

Please see my results in the IMO's VMDB.

Best wishes, Rich
