I got an email from a local variable star observer (in the Virginia
suburbs near Washington DC) who was out Aug 24/25 and saw a large number
of meteors in the early AM hours. This would be Aug 25 from 8:00-9:00 UT
where he was seeing roughly one per minute originating from the NE but
couldn't pin down a unique radiant. This was a reliable observer who
would notice a higher than normal level of activity. What initially
caught his eye was a bright meteor flashed through his telescope while
he was trying to spot a 14 magnitude star. Was anyone else out on the
east coast of the US that noticed a higher than normal level of activity
?

Cheers... Pete Gural
