(meteorobs) Visual Meteor Observation: East Georgia Feb. 17, 2007 (YOUKI)

I had clear skies this past Fri/Sat and used to the opportunity to resume 
observing using contacts -- early last year my two-year-old grandughter 
decided I no longer needed them and opened the case and lost my last pair. 
It was nice to once again be able to see the whole sky, not just the portion 
covered by my tiny John Lennon granny glasses.

Rates were almost exactly like two weeks ago, with 20 meteors seen in two 
hours.  Only one DLE and two ANTs were seen.  My tape player conked out and 
I was forced to use pen and paper.  This was difficult as the contacts 
afforded no "up-close" vision, only distance.

I seemed to only see very faint (+5) or somewhat bright (>= +2)  meteors.  I did 
not record *any*thing in the +3 range. I even saw a single +6 that appeared 
directly in my center FOV.  One thing I have noticed...whenever I observe a +6 they 
always are exrememly brief, having a track of only a degree or two.
