(meteorobs) Leonids 2007 (What Leonids?)

Hello,

Traditional maximum of Leonids 2007 was expected not to be very
intensive - with ZHR of only ~15 meteors. Now let's try to catch
1932 trail peak which is to happen in the nearest hours. My weather is
hopeless - Novosibirsk is in the center of large cloud massive.

Best regards, Mikhail

Sac> Here is a report on this year's Leonids from long-time
Sac> observer, Shelby Ennis, a radio "ham" in Kentucky
Sac> who listens to meteor showers by way of radio signals
Sac> reflected off the ionization trails left behind by meteors

Sac> Don't know how the Leonids were, but no evidence of them here.
Sac> Monitored 144 before & shortly after the predicted peak time. Also
Sac> watching the PJ Web page. Think I had 2 pings in that time! The
Sac> reports on the PJ page were "worse than a typical random night." Not
Sac> many people on the air. Went to bed.

Sac> Things might have been a little better Sun morning, maybe around 1500 Z
Sac> or so, but not many reports and they weren't very good. Consensus seems
Sac> to be that they were very poor this year.
