There is a formal IAU definition for fireball, which is any meteor with 
an apparent magnitude brighter than any planets, which is generally 
taken as -4 or brighter. The IMO sometimes uses a zenith normalized 
value of brighter than magnitude -3.

AFAIK, there isn't one for fireball, though.
