Hi
For some definitions relative to a fireball, please see the following:

Definition of terms by the IAU Commission 22, 1961. From list at AMS:

F. fireball: a bright meteor with luminosity which equals or exceeds
that of the brightest planets.

from: http://www.amsmeteors.org/define.html

Or see: http://www.popastro.com/sections/meteor/fireball.htm

The standard is any luminous body in motion that is brighter than the
brightest planet.

Brightness increasing by negative numbers. And its location between
horizon and zenith. For determine magnitude see:
http://www.imo.net/fireball

Hope this helps a wee bit? I don't think a new category is need just
yet, that is until the current system breaks.
