My observations began at 0748 ut under clear fairly dark 5.5 LM skies with temps near 43 degrees.

6 Orionids were observed between 0748ut and 0808ut.

Started another count beginning at 0814ut-0914ut and observed 30 shower members along with 2 non-Orionids.
As I was ready to pack it in, I witnessed a -2 mag Orionind charging north through Auriga and Camelopardis.
Having my 10x50 binoculars with me I immediately observed the train. Under optical aid, it appeared obviously brighter
at the end marking the flare of terminal 'burst'. It was visible for an additional 10-15 seconds as it changed shape rapidly before my eyes.
This was a very nice ending to my observing session, and a reminder to utilize a decent astronomical glass for meteor watching stints.
And to think I almost went out without them!

Clear skies!
