It's irrelevant.

Once the aircraft creates the contrail it moves on. The contrail stays near where it formed, depending on winds at that altitude.
It was likely an aircraft descending through a moist layer where the condensation clouds formed, it then continued to descend into drier layers where the contrail could not form.
