Managed finally to get hooked up with Dr Eric Flescher and get my first 2
hr. session of the year
last evening, using the Louisburg, KS observatory site S of KC metro area.

I confirm the paucity of Perseid bright members, and we had a pretty
incredible drought of Perseids
the 2nd full hour after sunset (really a slow hr. overall) after a not so
bad 1st hr. My best one was a 0.5 immediately before
a -3 I missed low in the N.

I missed the best one of the night, blocked by the one cedar tree low on the
N horizon, seen by
Eric well while we were commenting on the clump phenomenon typical of the
Perseids. Oh well.
It was the third of a set, I had another brace of them later that first hr.,
then just singles spread
far apart.

One Kappa Cygnid, a beautiful +2 falling from directly overhead due N.

Detailed report over the weekend on this.
