Hi folks. I had an unexpected few hours of very clear skies, so managed 2 hours of low elevation Perseid observations. My impression was that rates were low, but when I calculated EZHR's they weren't far off from what was expected. Perseids were quite dim, for the 8 there were. In fact, the overall meteors were quite dim. Then clouds moved in, so I napped, setting my alarm for every half hour. Finally looked good close to dawn, but it turned out to be a sucker hole; I only got in 18 minutes.
No lightning bugs, LOTS of katydids. Since I started so early there was intense aviation activity; it's one reason it's so difficult to operate the all-sky camera at the NJAA. During the first hour (11:48 PM to 00:48 AM EDT) there were 36! jets. During the second hour, 12:48-1:48 AM, there were 18 jets, and 1 prop plane.

Basically two sessions, 0348-0548 UT, and 0742-0800 UT on August 8th.

NJAA observatory location has been given enough recently. High Bridge, NJ.
F=1.00 throughout. Times recorded to nearest minute. Alignment cord used for shower association, as well as shower velocity. Data on audio tape recorder, no downtime.
