Ivo Leupi and I had a terrific night of Perseids observing /
photography. We travelled 2 hours west of Ottawa within a deep dark
area, near Bon Echo Park, where a clear hole was predicted to occur
around midnight.

What a night!!! The forecast lived up to expectation. With wide-
open skies approaching 7th mag, the two of us must have totaled a few
hundreds of meteors until dawn. It was quite a decent shower. Best
were a couple of mag -4 to -5 fireballs that Ivo's camera captured
well. I took notes of the clumping effects as well. I still need to
review my photos to see if I've managed to capture anything.

I'll listen to the tape, crunch some numbers and report Perseids in
more details tomorrow. For now, I need a nap. Might possibly head
to Moose Creek for a bit more meteor observing late tonight, if the
weather cooperates.

- tired Pierre
