Hi Pierre,
Great story and congratulationas. I'm curious of your photo's.
I'm just back from a small journey to the eastern parts of our country (The
Netherlands) at the public observatory Comos near the small village Lattrop
( it lies about 200 meters of the Dutch/German border). After some rain and
thunder we had a clear sky between 22:30 and 04:20 UT. What a great show the
Perseids give! Many bright Perseids, amongst them a-4 , -5 and a really
brilliant -10 Perseid. It left a persistent train of 60 seconds visible for
the naked eye. Unfortunately this big meteor appeared just outside the field
of view of my Canon 40D, but I was fast enought to aim the camera on the
persistent train and take many pictures of it.
And during 13 images of 45 seconds the train is easely visisble. Later I
will try to make a movie of it.
I think I did see 300-350 meteors this night. In think it is the best
Perseid show since 1993 (outburst 11/12: ZHR 300) and 2004 (a small outburst
of weak meteors with a ZHR of 180-200, later that night many bright
meteors).
I also hope to catch some metors in the coming night!
Best wishes, Koen
