(meteorobs) Perseids August 2/3, 2008 from Slovenia

Hi All,

with this mail I will start a series of observing reports, spanning from
August 2 to 12. All observations were made from Mala Kopa at about 1500 m
elevation, the site of Youth astronomical research camp (MART) that was
held from August 1 to 10.

The first clear night came on August 2. A huge thunderstorm passed south
of the location in the evening with a lightning visible every few seconds
on average. Many hundreds were captured by digital cameras.
Before midnight the sky cleared nicely and I started observing at 00h41m
local time for a duration of 2.5 hours effective observing time. The sky
was excellent and my limiting magnitude reached magnitude 7. My meteor
counts totalled 66, with the most active shower being the Perseids (11
were recorded), followed by the Antihelion meteors (6), Southern Delta
Aquarids (5) and Capricornids (1). Sporadic meteors were numerous: the
first hour alone had 25 sporadic meteors.
I did not see any bright meteor, the brightest was a magnitude 0 Perseid
at 01:22:41 UT, which I also captured with my camera (you can see a
