Hi Nico,

A very useful on-line "tool" is Lowell Observatories ASTPLOT:

http://asteroid.lowell.edu/cgi-bin/koehn/astplot

This plots all known asteroids for a given time and date and sky location.

Note: when you use it, it needs a minute or so to generate the star plot so have
patience.

Astplot does not show any known object at the position of the object in your
photograph. That is a good sign that it could potentially be "new".

I suggest you measure the positions of the object on you images with
Astrometrica (www.astrometrica.at), report them to the MPC and try to recover it
tonight.

- Marco
