Friday morning I had clear skies for the peak of the Quads, and as much as I would have wished to have been out there all night with such great skies and being well-positioned for the peak, I had the workweek to take into account, and planned my observation for immediately after the peak, hoping the extra radiant elevation would give me chances of seeing higher rates. I was fortunate, in that my second hour was quite a bit busier than my first, and had I chosen the earlier hours, more cenetred on the peak, it appears (by other posted reports) I would had fewer meteors to log. My second hour was very active, with 48 QUAs and provided a real treat at 09:36 UT, when a -4 and a -3 both appeared within seconds of each other. My first hour had 30 QUAs. I had 12 negative magnitude meteors logged for the session, but the shower was also rich in faint meteors, as I also had 21 Quadrantids I assigned as +5. The second hour was the busiest hour of observing I have enjoyed in a very long time!
