(meteorobs) Travel to IMC 2008

Hello,

a possible, altough lenghty, way is flight to Prague and then train. Flights
fetween Prague and many German cities are numerous and sometimes very (i
mean _very_ cheap), but it is only half-way through. From Prague, there is a
a plethora of direct trains to Slovakia, especially overnight, taking 9 to
11 hours to Banska Bystrica (directly or with one change) and the fare is
also very low (particularly when compared to Germany/Austria).

This route (over Ostrava/Zilina/Vrtuky) shall be recommended particularly to
those travel people among you - especially the overnight trains still retain
something from the train-travel romancy of the old times - the speed is not
amazing, nor is the design of the cars, but it is an interesting journey. On
the overnight trains, the last, very scenic portion from the Slovak border,
is often travelled already in daylight, offering magnificent views.
